Almeria's gastronomy has a strong Mediterranean influence, with a wide range of distinguished sea and land food flavour cuisine. Among the Spanish popular food culture, it can highlight the 'Tapeo', which means going out and having several appetizers in different restaurants or bars. It is a widespread culture throughout Spain, but Almeria is one of the cities with more choice and quality.

The 'tapas' have become a hallmark of Almeria city where one can enjoy a good 'tapa', with a drink (usually wine or beer).
